SermonWell transcribes sermon recordings and turns them into ready-to-use material for church teams. This page explains exactly what we collect, who else touches your recording, and how to get it all deleted.
What we collect
- Account — your email address, used only as your account name. We never send marketing email. If you set a password we store it hashed; if you sign in with Google we receive your email address from Google and never see your Google password.
- Your recordings and transcripts — the audio or video you upload, the resulting transcript, and any content pack generated from it.
- Billing — your minute balance and purchase history.
- Abuse prevention — a hashed form of your network address, used only to cap free trials. We do not keep raw IP addresses for this.
Who else processes your recording
Transcription and content generation are not done entirely on our own servers. Being specific about this matters when the recording is a sermon:
| Processor | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Volcengine (ByteDance) | The audio track of your upload | Speech recognition |
| DeepSeek | The finished transcript text | Generating the content pack — only when you press the button |
| Paddle | Your payment details | Merchant of record; we never see or store card numbers |
| Your email address | Only if you choose Google sign-in |
If you would rather no third party ever received the audio, do not upload it. There is no version of this service that transcribes without sending the audio to a speech-recognition provider.
How long we keep things
- Uploaded audio and video: deleted right after processing. We do not archive your media.
- Transcripts and content packs stay in your account so you can reopen them, until you ask us to delete them.
- Account and billing records are kept while your account exists.
What we never do
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone beyond the processors listed above.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. One token in your browser's local storage keeps you signed in.
- We do not read, publish or train on your sermons.
Deleting your data
Email us and we will delete your account, transcripts and content packs. Ask and we will confirm when it is done.
